What is Briz.com?
Briz.com is an online platform for small business. Briz empowers small businesses with the tools and connections they need to succeed online within their local geographic communities. Briz allows small businesses to connect and communicate with their consumers, business partners and suppliers. Briz also allows for employee security, customized profiles, communication, and separate online content for each store location. In addition to giving business owners the tools to publish coupons, news and events to their specific local geographic market, Briz gives consumers the efficient tools to quickly and easily stay in connection and keep up with their favorite local businesses.
Is it free?
YES. Use of Briz.com is completely free for both consumers and businesses.
How do I sign up?
Singing up is quick and easy. On the right side of the homepage click the word "Sign Up" and just fill out the one page registration form. After clicking "Create Account" you will momentarily receive an email; then click the link in the email to continue.
How To Sign Up as a Consumer
Is my contact information private?
Yes. Your personal information is always kept private. You may also setup your own profile. You have the option to display your personal profile or keep it private. Under "My Settings" in the profile section you can choose "Display My Profile" or "Do not Display My Profile."
I signed up and I haven't received the Activation Email, what's wrong?
Perhaps the email went to your spam or junk mail folder, check these first. You can also login and select "Resend activation email" to have another email sent to you.
Can I use Briz if I am not signed up?
Yes. You are able to use Briz if you are not a registered member. If you are not signed up you are able to search businesses and check out their profiles but are limited to the full functions that are offered on Briz. However, we strongly recommend you register. You can become a member within minutes for free and have access to the full set of features.
How To Sign Up as a Consumer
How can I delete my account on Briz?
Go to "My Settings" then go to "Account" and you will have the option to delete your account.
How can I contact someone at Briz.com?
Do you have a question about something? Your first stop should be in our knowledgebase. See our Learn More page, FAQ page, online Tutorials or the Briz Help forum. If you have general questions about using Briz, we encourage you ask them in the Briz forum. You can also reach someone at Briz directly by email, phone or mail. All of our contact information is listed under "Contact Us" at the bottom of the site. Don't hesitate to contact us, we are happy to answer any questions or listen to any feedback and comments you may have.
Can I change my password after I have already registered?
Yes. Change your password by selecting "Forgot password" on the homepage. The system will send your email a private link to reset your password.
If I have a business out of my home and/or street vendor can I make an account on Briz?
Yes. In fact Briz is perfect for you to get started. Just know that we do monitor the businesses that are created and we will remove your account if we do not feel it is legitimate.
What information can I find out about a business on Briz?
There is an unlimited amount of business information that can be offered on Briz. Some of the main informational features include the basic business contact information, menus, products and services pages, about us and location pages, and the latest news, events and coupons the business offers. You can also read feedback by other consumers about a business.

What are "Briz Points"?
Briz Points are an award system. There are various ways a business can receive Briz Points. A business can receive points by simply having a user vote for them or by staying active (posting news, events, and coupons) and creating a complete profile. For each item posted the business will receive one Briz point. ***The first 10,000 business to join the Briz community will receive a 100 Briz points upon registration putting them ahead of the pack***
What is "Find A Business"?
Find A Business is where you search for a business of interest. By default you are able to search by Zip Code and Keyword or a combination of both. You are also able to search businesses by using Advanced Search, B-2-B Search, and Browse. Advanced Search gives you five different options to search for a business: Local Areas, Business Categories, Business Name or Keyword, Business Details, or Social Groups. You may use one of these options or a combination of all five. B-2-B Search is a specific search for business owners or an employee of a business to find other businesses. Browse simply displays random businesses throughout Briz.

How can I receive updates about a business I am interested in?
In order to receive updates about a business, save that business to My Briz. Then your My Briz will display all of the newest items from your favorite local businesses. Once you have saved the business to My Briz, the business will be added to your My Briz page and you will begin receiving any new event, coupons, and news about that business. You can have an unlimited number of businesses on My Briz so add your favorite business now.

Do I have to create a profile? Does it have to be visible?
It is not required to create a profile. However, we strongly recommend that you do create a profile. We encourage you to post feedback and thoughts about your favorite businesses. If you create a profile, businesses and consumers can learn more about you.
What is "My Quickie"?
"My Quickie" allows you to save a business or any item thats worth a second look. You can simply Click "Add to Quickie" to conveniently save it on the side of the page for your quick reference. Your Quickie holds up to 12 items you chose.

What is "My Messages"?
Here you will be able read new messages as well as read your sent messages. However, it is important to note you cannot send a message from "My Messages."
How Messages Are Organized in My Mailbox
Can I get driving directions to a business?
Yes. We provide maps as well as directions to any business on Briz from the businesses "Maps & Directions" page in their profile.
How can I tell my friends or other businesses about Briz?
On the header of Briz, there is the "Invite Friends" link. From this page you can invite friends and other businesses come join Briz. Briz has already included a brief informational section in the body of the message.

How do I create a business?
A Briz business account can be created in just a few simple steps. Please see the link and follow the guided tutorial.
How To Sign Up My Business
Can I add additional business locations to my business account?
Yes. We provide two options to add additional locations to your business account: 1. Add An Additional Location To The Existing Profile - the location will have the same profile, items, messaging, target networks and employee security as your current business; or 2. Add An Additional Location With A New Profile - the new location will be a part of your current business but will have its own profile, items, messaging, target networks and employee security.
How do I set up or edit my business profile?
Go to "Edit Profile" and go through each of the 9 headings (Basic, Networks, Profile, About Us, Hours, Menu, Product, Services, Employees) and the different steps within each.
Editing My Business Profile
How many Business keywords or "tags" can I have?
You can fill up the space provided by adding keywords or "tags" that best describe your business. Remember, when adding new keywords for your business, it can take up to 15 minutes for the system to recognize these new keywords. Briz is also optimized for Google, Yahoo and other search engines to recognize your businesses "tags" and display your business at the top of search engine result pages.
What are Geographic Areas? How many can I have?
Geographic Areas are the areas that your business will be displayed in. By default, your business is automatically included in your local area. You may also include your businesses in up to 5 different geographic areas where you conduct business. As a default setting that can be changed by you, consumers will see businesses within 25 miles of their general location.
What are Business Categories?
Business Categories should help describe your business and your products and / or services. Your business may be included in 5 different business categories. Categories are important because they help consumers and businesses find you when conducting searches.
What are Business Target Categories?
You can choose to "target" or reach businesses within your line of business, or complementary business categories. Business owners in the categories you selected can then see businesses (like yourself) who have intended to reach out to them.
Is a business logo necessary?
We highly recommend a business logo. It allows consumers and businesses to better recognize your business.
How do I upload picture onto my businesses' page?
To upload a picture, click the "Choose File" button and select the image from your computer. Standard images (JPG, GIF and PNG files) are accepted. BMP files are not accepted. Please do not exceed a file size of 4MB. Additionally, any uploads or postings are subject to the Terms and Conditions of use of the site.
What is the picture gallery?
The picture gallery is simply a gallery of any picture you wish to display to consumers and businesses. These pictures should express and represent your business. You can upload an unlimited number of pictures in your picture gallery.
Can I post my hours of operation?
Yes. Go to "edit profile" and under "hours" you will be able to adjust you business hours of operation. Also, you have the choice to display or not to display your business hours of operation.
Can I post my menu?
Yes. Go to "edit profile," and under "menu," you will be able to enter a brief description about your menu, upload your menu, and/or in the menu body include items on your menu, give recommendations and describe your style. Also, you have the choice to display or not to display the menu page if it does not fit your business.
Can I post my products?
Yes. Go to "edit profile" and under "products" you will be able to enter a brief description about your products, upload your products, and/or in the product body list products, offer recommendations and describe your style. In addition, you have the choice to display or not to display the products page if it does not fit your business.
How do I post items?
Go to, "post items" and you will have the option to post any news, events and coupons.
Creating and Posting Items
How many items can I post?
You can post an unlimited number of items and all of your items will be displayed in your businesses profile. Within the search results items are displayed with the following criteria: News - will automatically display your two newest posts. Coupons & Events - you may select up to 5 of each to be "Search Visible." Only items marked "Search Visible" will be displayed in a search. This will allow you to run promotions on a timely basis and easily go back to old coupons and make them active again.
What are Biz Buds?
Biz Buds are public contacts that you've added to your My Briz and are also displayed in your profile to help promote each other.
Tracking Business Friends, Partners, and Suppliers
How can I send a message to another business?
Anywhere on Briz where you can send a message, simply select "Business Messaging" to send a message from the perspective of your business. All members of your organization whom are given communication access will be able to see the messages and respond.
How Messages Are Organized in My Business Mailbox
How can I respond to a customer
You can see all customer messages in your business mailbox. Select "Messages" under your business on the left-hand side.
How can I market Briz.com in my store?
Let's spread the word! Under Marketing & Tools, we provide you with easy marketing solutions. There are tent cards that are ready to be printed to display in your store. If you have an existing website, you can add a link to your Briz space. This will allow customers from your website to keep up with the latest item's you've posted on Briz.
How often should I update my profile?
This is entirely up to you. We recommend logging on to Briz as often as possible to update information. You should log in regularly and market to your consumer base with news, events and coupons.
I am a marketer, promoter, or web designer and I want to be a part of Briz. What should I do?
Fill out the form on the Marketer page (in the Learn More section). If you are granted special access to be a Briz Marketer you will have a special Briz account. This account will allow you to maintain an unlimited number of businesses from your account. You can charge each business as you see fit to maintain their account on Briz.
How can I be featured on the Homepage?
Briz selects three businesses everyday to be featured on the homepage. What we look for is businesses with complete profiles including pictures and business information. Have a complete profile and havent been featured? Let us know and we will make sure you are featured.
How can I submit a Testimonial?
Simply email your testimonial to info@briz.com. Send us your testimonial today! We will place yours on the testimonial page along with a link to your profile and we will randomly select testimonials for the homepage.
What is the difference between a personal BrizBud and a business BrizBud?
By default, if you own a business, BrizBuds will be added to your business and not to your personal contacts. Business BrizBuds are shared with your entire organization. So if you have more then one employee operating your business, they'll see the information from the business' BrizBud. If you add a business as a personal BrizBud, other employees of your business will not see that BrizBud.
I want to add a business as a personal BrizBud, not a business BrizBud, how can I do that?
By default, if you own a business, Briz will add a BrizBud as a business contact. If you'd like to add a business as a personal contact, go to the businesses profile and select the button "Add as BrizBud". You'll have the option to select between personal and business.
